But more than this, it has in many ways become a cultural artefact of modern life and has seeped into our everyday lives, shaping many aspects of the world around us. Challenging perceptions of gender norms, eliciting debates about mental health, shining a light on racial prejudice – Reality TV may be seen as both a positive and negative influence on contemporary life.
